Dade Battlefield - Sumter County, Florida

Dade Battlefield is located in a rural part of Florida. It is one of those "off the beaten path" trips. It marks the site of the battle that sparked the Second Seminole War in 1836.

Now, it is a scenic and peaceful park. You can picnic there or take a nature walk. There is even an annual reenactment of the battle held there each year.

From Florida - With Love!

Hi all from sunny Florida! I'm one of the few "natives". I live in central Florida - in a small town about 30 mins from Orlando.

For my maiden post, I'll include a few pictures that I took during my visit to historic Kingsley Plantation on Fort George island in the Jacksonville area this weekend.
